December 2009
So this is the New Year.
Thus begins the New Years Eve festivities. It feels a little bit anticlimactic, honestly. Not sure why. I am going out, celebrating with the family and then the boyfriend. Maybe its because I can’t wear a better outfit because it’s so damn COLD out. That’s probably part of the reason. I wish I could wear heels.
Whatever. I’m hungry and I hope this restaurant my dad picked...
Profound Thought No. 2
I believe this is my second not-so-profound-thought in the entirety of my existence as a tumblr-er. If it’s not, I apologize.
Why is it that I’ve become such a hypochondriac lately? Why am I suddenly so paranoid about things like getting an allergic reaction to a vaccine that I’ve already had once before? I started noticing it in Chicago, with all of my weird headaches and...
this sounds frightening and terrible. →
(via thephonologicalloop)
Not only does it sound frightening and terrible, it’s probably a little bit unrealistic. It sounds a bit like my Dad when he talks about the future… I swear he once said that “we’ll call have flying cars, synthetic organs, and have a cure for cancer by 2010!” Not quite accurate.
"See the thing is, when you’re an idealist… you...
I couldn’t disagree more. Real love and ideal love are exactly the same thing. You obviously just have to rethink your ideals.
Today I
sort of want to just curl up on the couch and stay there until dinner time.
Too bad that isn’t going to happen.
I go by Mr. K. I’m teaching English at a prep school in rural Connecticut. In my...

He was the best part about ‘It’s Complicated’. Love it.
Highlights of this Christmas:
- The goat cheese salad and the deeeelicious duck that I ate on Christmas eve. That, topped off with an espresso and some poire belle helene… it was a good night.
- Getting my very own tea set and dishes and an apron and a crockpot and the Julia Child cookbook!!!!!!
- The ridiculous abundance of jewelery I ended up with.
- Looking good, all the time.

Merry Christmas!
I’m listening to the “Swingin’ Christmas” station on Pandora, wishing I had a dance partner right now. But I’m still as happy as can be, dressing up, putting on makeup, getting hungry (mmmm I can not WAAAIT for that french duck to get in my tummy tonight) and wishing my eyes would stop looking so red when I wear black eyeliner. Hmph.
I baked a cake today. It smelled...
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Actually, in about 30 minutes it will be Christmas Eve Day. Exceelllleennnnttt. I love Christmas.
Also - WHERE HAS BAND OF HORSES BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE?! Cease to Exist is blowing me away right now, in a totally mellow, melodic way.
Also - I need to find a tres chic outfit to wear to the bistro tomorrow night. Preferably without heels, considering I will have to walk...
Lame-ness Update.
I got a little bit less lame, so far. I’m on a roll with all of this Christmas wrapping stuff and I’ve knocked out some paperwork for school as well. Nice. Now, off to practice, because I think I might have an audition in a couple weeks. I need two contrasting excerpts! Oh no!
How about…. Scheherezade (always a good one to fall back on) and Firebird? No, not really contrasting....
It's Cold.
And I found out like two hours too late that I don’t have to go work today. I COULD HAVE SLEPT INNNN!!! ugh. And now I have to come in LATE to heckle people for their emails at some Christmas show. Not really my idea of a fantastic evening. Whatever.
And I missed the Eric Hutchinson show that I reaaaallly wanted to see because of the blizzard. Lame. Today is lame.
Today I
will be productive.
my to-do list includes laundry, practicing for the first time in FORREEVER (i hope my reeds still work! ah!), showering and being pretty, wrapping presents, maybe registering for some classes (?), and seeing the boy. Gooood day.
I'm On Fire - John Mayer →
Bonus Track! Should have been on the album! Yay!
Today I am
drinking hot chocolate, looking pretty, and reading The Fellowship Of The Ring. You know, I had forgotten how wonderful that trilogy is. And it’s just perfect for snuggling on the couch with.
Perhaps after I do said snuggling, I’ll practice for a little bit. I’m probably going to have to audition somewhere in the near future for an ensemble, soooo maybe I should play. For the...
